BALI INDONESIA
Bali’s airport is I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport also known as Denpasar International Airport (Airport Search Code: DPS).
It is approximately 17km from the Uluwatu District, which is the area where all the festivities take place.
You will need a visa to enter Bali. There are two easy options for this:
1. Get a 30-day visa upon arrival (eligible for 90 countries, most commonly used option).
2. Apply online and receive it prior to travelling.
It costs $50 AUD. Please find more details: HERE.
Please make sure your passport is valid for six months in order to qualify for the visa on arrival and be allowed in to the county.
Prior to travelling, be sure to exchange and carry some of the local currency with you, which is Indonesian Rupiah.
Please find the exchange rate HERE.
Getting around Bali is now easier than ever! Ride-hailing apps like Grab and Gojek offer convenient and affordable transportation options, including cars and motorbikes. For a more personalised experience, hiring a private driver is a great way to explore the island at your own pace. Traditional taxis, especially Bluebird Taxis, are reliable for quick trips and airport transfers. For the adventurous, renting a motorbike allows you to discover hidden gems, but be sure to wear a helmet and carry a valid international license.
You're going to love Bali!
Uluwatu is a scenic, hilly area in the southwest corner of Bali’s Bukit Peninsula. It’s named after a famous temple perched on its cliffs.
This area is known for its blue waves, white sand beaches, impressive sea cliffs, quality surfing, and fancy beach clubs. Along with beautiful beaches there are many sunsets to see with extraordinary views.
Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) is a cultural park in the center of the Bukit Peninsula. It used for exhibitions and Balinese cultural events, but most people know it for the giant statues of Hindu figures. The centerpiece of the park is a statue of the god Vishnu riding the mythical bird Garuda. At 120 meters tall (400 feet), it’s one of the tallest statues in the world.
